"No players to sell,no stories to tell"

The English football season, save for the occasional International friendly tacked on at the end finishes around the end of May.So where does the football junkie look to get his fix?,The answer of course is the transfer merry go round that subsequently ensues.

Most of the speculation you read will be bullshit of course, some wishful thinking, and some actually fact.So who will be this summers movers and shakers?,unusually Manchester United showed there hand early on by chief executive David Gill's pronouncement of a hectic summer in the transfer market.Common consensus being of at least three top quality signings offset by the shipping out of some of the fringe players.A goalkeeper being a necessity,Athletico Madrids young custodian De Gea being mentioned in reports.Chelsea?well the first signing they will be making will be a manager then we will see what sort of spending mood Mr Abramovich will be in.
Liverpool are in dire need of a makeover,to many average players on long expensive contracts being the problem there, not so easy to get rid of players on big wages, especially if there mostly below average. As for Arsenal their signings will have to address the glaring lack of steel and mental toughness required to win the really big prizes,it wont be helped by the expected selling of Fabregas to Barcelona. All of which brings us to Manchester City;they have the cash to blow anyone out of the water, lets be fair, but you wonder what way they will go?.signings the team actually needs?or simply "Hollywood signings"to no great long term impact,Robinho anyone?. Any way folks.sit back, set your bullshit antennae and enjoy it all;everyone loves a merry go round.See you in august.
